ABSTRACT
2,4-D, 2,4,5-T, phenoxy acetic acid herbicides known as the endocrine disrupters, were analyzed to understand their fates in water, soil, sediment and biota. The analysis of phenoxy acetic acid pesticides in environmental samples included sequential acidification, extraction, methylation with diazomethane, then following analysis with GC/MS or GC/ECD according to Japanese SPEED 98 method. Method detection limits for each samples were at least equivalent to those of SPEED 98. Recoveries were good with the range of 71-87%.
Key words: 2,4-D, 2,4,5-T, Phenoxy acetic acid, endocrine disrupter
