For the determination of efficiency on the waste water treatment system, on site detection kit(Ecotest) was utilized for analysis of nutrients including ammonium(N), nitrite(N), nitrate(N) and phosphate(P). By comparison with Ion chromatograph, the accuracy of detection kit was demonstrated as around 20% at higher concentration(over 2ppm) and around 30∼40% at the concentration of below 1ppm. As the result of Ecotest on waste water treatment system, the concentration of ammonium(N), nitrite(N), nitrate(N) and phosphate(P) have been shown 0∼2.0ppm, 0.01ppm, 0∼10.0ppm and 1.0∼2.5ppm respectively. Key words : waste water system, detection of nitrogen, detection of phosphorous, Ecotest 1. 서 론 산업의 발달, 인구의 증가와 생활수준의 향상 등에 의한 오염물질의 배출량이 증가되면서 오폐수처리의 문제는 그 중요성이 날이 갈수록 증가하고 있다. 1998년 현재 우리 나라의 일일 폐수 발생량은 407만톤이고 이를 처리하여 하천 및 바다로 흘려 보내는 일일 폐수 방류랑은 261만톤에 이르고 있다. 또한 생활하수의 발생량은 1994년 현재 일일 160만톤이라는 막대한 규모를 보여주고 있는 실정이다. 그 뿐만 아니라 축산폐수의 경우도 일일 발생량이 1999년 현재 12만톤에 달하고 있는 실정이다. 또한 오폐수처리에 있어서 각각의 반응조 내에서의 처리과정에 있어서 각종 오염물질의 농도를 모니터링해야 하며, 방류수의 경우는 기준치 이하를 유지하여야 하는데 이에 따른 비용, 시간 및 인력의 소모가 필요하다. 따라서 현장에서 직접 측정이 가능한 키트의 제작 및 적용이 매우 필요하다. 이에 현장에서 신속히 측정할 수 있는 에코테스트를 제작하여 오폐수의 영양성분인 질소, 인의 함량을 암모니아, 아질산, 질산, 인산으로 나누어 측정하였으며 이를 이온크로마토그래피와 비교하여 효능성에 관한 실험을 수행하였다.
